Trusted Resources
These resources are evidence-informed and neurodiversity-affirming. They're often helpful for building understanding, finding support, or navigating day-to-day experiences between sessions.
This is not an exhaustive list. It reflects resources I feel confident recommending within a broader care context.
"I want to learn more about what this means."
AuDHD — understanding the overlap
Autism and ADHD co-occur frequently, and their interaction can create experiences that neither diagnosis fully explains on its own. These resources are specifically attentive to that complexity.
Burnout
The Autistic Burnout Workbook — Dr. Megan Anna Neff
A hands-on guide to recognizing burnout patterns, identifying triggers, and building a personalized recovery plan. Includes visuals and worksheets. Covers masking, sensory profiling, nervous system regulation, and energy pacing — written from an AuDHD clinical and lived experience perspective. Also available as a digital download directly from NDI.
Disability frameworks and justice
These resources offer broader frameworks for understanding neurodivergence within systems of power, access, and social context — moving beyond individual adaptation and toward structural understanding.
10 Principles of Disability Justice — Sins Invalid
The foundational framework for disability justice, developed by disabled queer and trans people of colour. Centers intersectionality, wholeness, and interdependence — an essential read for understanding how ableism connects to other systems of oppression.
Practitioners
The following are personal referrals — practitioners we are familiar with and feel comfortable recommending. This is not a comprehensive directory.

An anti-oppressive, intersectional guide to whole-person care for neurodivergent clients. Written by an autistic counsellor, Walsh offers a tangible somatic framework that can be applied alongside other modalities. Strongly endorsed across the field — described by many as essential reading for any ND-affirming clinician. Published by W. W. Norton (2025).
